50 years of success celebrated in Heights

The Heriot-Watt 1966 Graduating Reunion Lunch was held at Heights, Apex Grassmarket Hotel this week. The lunch marked the 50th Anniversary of Heriot-Watt being awarded a Royal Charter and its university status. All alumni from the graduating year of 1966 were invited for a complimentary lunch with panoramic Edinburgh Castle views.

Herriot-Watt history

The venue was chosen as the building was previously used by the university before It was bought by Apex Hotels in 1996. The building has played a part in the history of the university so was the perfect fit for the occasion carrying a traditional and historic theme. In the afternoon, guests were treated to a three-course lunch, 60s music and entertainment in Heights in the company of old friends sharing memories.

Amoungst alumni, special guests also included current senior colleagues of the university who joined the celebrations to take a trip down memory lane. Alumni provided old photographs which ensured a reflective look at the changes the university has gone through in the last 50 years.
