A first look: V&A Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt

We were lucky enough to be invited along to the V&A Dundee to get a first look at their exciting new exhibit, Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt. The innovative new exhibition explores the design behind video games, the players themselves and the culture around gaming. We went along to the press preview before Videogames was open to the public and got a sneak peek of the action. See some behind the scenes snippets below and book your own trip to the V&A here.

Some enthusiastic staff members dressed in cosplay to mark the opening!

The exhibit opens with a quote from world-renowned game designer Frank Lantz.

Not just fun and games… The exhibition confronts controversial topics such as the perceived social impact of violent video games.

The design of popular game No Man’s Sky features in one particularly vibrant exhibition that occupies an entire wall!

Social, racial and cultural issues are also explored in the exhibit.

Not your typical museum… The exhibition features a cinema room complete with beanbag chairs for viewing comfort.

Interactive old-school arcade games allow attendees to immerse themselves in the action.
