Edinburgh’s Summer of Music and Where to Stay

Whether you’re primed to see your inner 90s girl power attitude resurface, or looking forward to seeing some of the UK’s best acts amidst the incredible backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh is poised to welcome hundreds of thousands of music fans over the summer months. The Spice Girls reunion tour arrives at BT Murrayfield Stadium in June, whilst acts including Paul Weller, Kylie and The Proclaimers will take centre stage in front of Edinburgh Castle throughout July, before the Edinburgh Summer Sessions line-up adds to the city’s festival fever, welcoming the likes of Florence and the Machine and Lewis Capaldi to Princes Street Gardens.

For those lucky enough to bag tickets, pre-drinks in one of the city’s many beer gardens and a warm (and sometimes wild!) Scottish welcome for world-famous acts will make for an a evening you won’t forget.

Now, the less organised amongst you may still be scrambling for a place to rest your head after an epic night. Typically, on big event dates, the city fills up pretty fast, but don’t panic – that’s where we can help. When you book our special event rate at any of our four, city-centre hotels, we’ll treat you to a complimentary breakfast the following morning. Here’s a reminder of who’s playing when, and how to book our event rate.

Each of our four Edinburgh hotels are the perfect place to end your summer session of choice. Our cosy Apex Haymarket Hotel in Edinburgh’s West End is just a short walk or tram ride from BT Murrafield Stadium, meanwhile our Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel or Apex Grassmarket Hotel are both a short, ten minute walk from Edinburgh Castle. Over in the New Town, you’ll find our Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, a stone’s throw from Waverley train station and a mere five minute walk to Princes St Gardens.

Wherever you choose to stay, you’ll be well positioned to rock before you roll into one of our dreamy beds for a great night’s sleep and a delicious complimentary breakfast the next morning.
