Seven Ways to enjoy Bath at Christmas

From the smells of the famous Bath Christmas market to the heavenly sounds of the Bath Abbey shoppers’ carols.

Here Freya from the Apex City of Bath gives her top of the tree tips for a festive cracker.

Bath Christmas Market

Top of our list has to be the annual Bath Christmas Market. From 22nd November – 9th December the attraction, which is one of the most popular of its kind in the UK, is a one-way ticket to feeling festive.

Spread out across “18 days of magical merriment”, more than 180 chalets bring everything from bespoke jewellery and homeware to Christmas decorations and gifts.

Visitors can also warm up with the ubiquitous mulled wine and hog roast.

Tea Party with Father Christmas

Have tea with Santa at the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park. The hour-long event will see elves delight little ones before Santa himself arrives to tell the children a story.

Various dates and time slots are available from November 24th until Christmas Eve.

Panto with Peter Pan

One of the best-loved children’s stories comes to the Bath Theatre Royal this festive season. Starring Paul Nicholas as Captain Hook, this swashbuckling treat for all the family is definitely near the top of our things to do in Bath at Christmas.

Shoppers’ Carols at Bath Abbey

On Saturday 24th November, 1st and 8th December shoppers can get some respite from the retail madness and float away on a tide of festive song at the stunning Bath Abbey.

The shoppers’ carol service runs all day from 1pm – 5pm.

Longleat Festival of Light

A short drive from the city of Bath, Longleat House and Grounds are a place where lions laze and tigers stalk the landscape. But from 9th November the house and gardens are transformed into a winter wonderland with a winter safari, Santa train and much, much more.
