Things to do in Edinburgh this half term

Edinburgh Half-term at Dynamic Earth

There are lots of things to do in Edinburgh this half-term. Open daily from 10am, Dynamic Earth is packed full of activities throughout the year, and during school holidays, you’ll find lots of workshops and unique exhibits. The highlight is a two day Inspiring Young Scientist’s event on 16 & 17 October where kids can meet experts working in the cutting edge Space and Earth Observation Science in Scotland right now.

Botanic Lights

As nights draw in, encourage little ones to get out and explore when it’s not a school night. They’ll be left in awe of the beautiful lights and interactive displays as they enter the Royal Botanic Gardens for this magical light trail leading you around these fantastic gardens. The event will run from 13 October – 6 November, but tickets are limited so book a place ahead of arrival.

Scottish International Storytelling Festival

Edinburgh is well-known for art and cultural festivals. This one is an annual celebration of traditional and contemporary storytelling, bringing together artists and kids to inspire and create memories. The festival runs from 21 – 31 October 2016 and this year’s theme, ‘Festival of Dreams’, will offer an abundance of dreamscapes and myths celebrating tradition.
